2026 Best Communities for Music Education
Savannah Connors (Grade 10 soprano), Sophia DiBiasi (Grade 9, alto), and Charlotte Brown (Grade 10, soprano) -- all pictured left -- represented CHS in the CT Musica Educators Association All-State Treble Choir. They were conducted by Dr. Lindsay Pope of Umass-Amherst.
GP’s piece “Keep the Beat” for solo tuba was recognized by the CT Music Educators Association at their annual conference in Hartford. Students in grades K-12 submitted compositions that were selected to be featured in a gallery walk at the conference for all to enjoy and had the opportunity to meet with a working composer. Bravo GP!
Congratulations to Cherry Brook Primary School teacher Samantha Card!
Ms. Card successfully presented “Engaging Practices for Inclusive Elementary School Chorus” at the CT Music Educators Association state conference. Ms. Card’s presentation was very well attended as she shared her thoughtful, student centered approach to designing rehearsals for Cherry Brook singers. Participants appreciated her participatory approach and were happy to sing, move and interact throughout this excellent session. Bravo Ms. Card! You are a leader in our profession!
